Capella Industrial are recruiting on behalf of a highly established precision engineering business based in Mansfield.
The Business
This opportunity sits within a long-standing toolmaking and mould/die manufacturing operation supplying complex, high-precision tooling solutions. The business provides full in-house design, project management, machining, EDM and toolroom capability, supporting new tooling, tool modifications, repairs and ongoing lifecycle support.
Operating in a low-volume, high-complexity environment, the company is known for quality, technical capability and long-term customer relationships rather than mass production.
The Role
As Works Manager, you will take overall responsibility for site performance and delivery, leading multiple departments including design, project management, CNC machining, EDM, toolmaking and quality.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong people management, structure and commercial awareness within a precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all departments across the site, ensuring collaboration and clear accountability
- Own production planning, capacity, workflow and delivery against customer schedules
- Work closely with design and project teams to ensure smooth project handover and manufacturability
- Drive continuous improvement across efficiency, quality, right-first-time delivery and housekeeping
- Maintain high standards across health & safety, quality systems and process control
- Support effective use of machinery and systems including Autodesk PowerMill, Roboform, Robofill, Robofoam and Charmilles EDM
- Act as a key interface between engineering, operations and senior stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Works Manager / Operations Manager experience within toolmaking, mould tools, die tools or precision engineering
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Solid understanding of machining, EDM and toolroom processes
- Calm, organised and delivery-focused leadership style
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance quality, cost and lead time
